ABSTRACT

In 2019 a new Syndrome appear on the Large numbers of people like (High temperature, cough, Loss of sense of smell and taste(forcing a lot of them to enter the critical care unit after while the virus how case this syndrome named (SARS-CoV2). The aim of this paper is recognize the patient who effected by covid-19 or not using x-ray images. Deep learning techniques utilized to classify these images by using convolutional neural network (CNN). The dataset have been utilized in this work consist of 1000 x-ray images collected from kaggle website and divided it into 80% for training and 20% for validation. The proposed method using the pertained networks such as (EffienentNet B0, ResNet50) to minimize the training time with high performance, where the EffienentNet B0 network give high accuracy is 98.5%,finaly the model has been implemented on raspberry pi3 successfully for classification task.

ABSTRACT

The FDA-approved vaccine against the novel coronavirus developed by Pfizer and BioNTech became widely popular in Iraq. The study aims to evaluate the incidence of vaccine adverse reactions, and severity after first and second doses and to link some of the demographic criteria of recipients. This study included 850 adults (16 years and older), and the sample was collected from a randomly selected vaccination center in Baghdad, Iraq for the period January to March 2022. Study Participants were directly interviewed while taking the first dose. Later on, phone calls were used to monitor participants' self-reported local or systemic adverse reactions for one week after the first dose and second dose. The participants' age range was (19-76 years) with a mean of (46.2 ± 15.8) years. 59.9% were males. The mean body mass index (BMI) was (27.7 ±2.9). The incidence of vaccine adverse reactions after first and second doses were: first dose (local 17%, systemic 27%), second dose (local 27%, systemic 35%). Ordinal logistic regression analysis after adjusting for age, sex, and past medical history (PMHx) showed a higher incidence and severity in females and those with PMHx in nearly all the types of reactions except for chills (second dose) and PMHx (two doses), muscle or joint pain (two doses). Spearman's Rank test showed an insignificant correlation with any type of reaction. The vaccine is generally safe and adverse reactions are mild and tolerable in the majority of cases. ©2022 by authors, all rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

Natural aggregates are being depleted due to the high demand for road and building construction and need to be replaced with alternative materials. This study investigated the potential of using Palm kernel shells (PaKS) as a partial replacement for natural aggregates (NA) and waste plastics (WP) as a binder. The physical and volumetric properties of the different asphaltic mixes (AM) were assessed using the Marshall Method. The bitumen content of the mix design samples was varied from 4.0% to 7.5% of the total weight of aggregates utilized. According to the Marshall parameters, at 5.5% bitumen content, the maximum Marshall Stability value of the different mix designs increased from 9.8 kN to 12.1 kN and the flow value increased from 3.0 mm to 3.7 mm. The experimental results based on the optimum bitumen content determined by the Marshall method demonstrate that PaKS and WP can be utilized to modify AM. However, additional tests will be needed to evaluate the use of this composition in road construction.

ABSTRACT

The aim of the article was to describe the impact of COVID 19 in Sudan;highlighting the response towards COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges towards possible control and prevention the outbreak. There is a worldwide uncertainty of how COVID 19 will play out tomorrow;we have no answer to what the best option for us in Sudan. However, while the world is waiting for the development of a vaccine and in the path to recovery, Sudan has many crucial tasks to do. The FMH should continue to share awareness programs through social networking and platforms and follow intense epidemiological surveillance so that any new case of COVID-19 can be noticed rapidly. This can be achieved by identifying the areas of the focus, and trace all the possible victims who may be exposed to the virus or have symptoms, test them and isolate them. This will break the chain of transmission and help to use the test kits to where they are most useful. FMH should continue providing all basic health services at different levels in the healthcare facilities, to prevent the collapse of health system and unwanted death from other diseases. The role of the media in the dissemination of correct information to the public is crucial such as reported cases and disease surveillance to control strategies and any others scenarios for further prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and better understanding the dynamics of disease outbreak in Sudan. The effect of lockdown might be more painful and traumatic to certain vulnerable groups, there should be a way out to help them, through national and international organisations engagement in the management policy. It is important for the authorities to adapt a response and plan policies that are flexible, which address the issues as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
